    Welcome to Bilgola Surf Life Saving Club

    Bilgola Beach is a beautiful spot and is nestled in between Avalon and Newport Beach in the picturesque region of Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The Bilgola Surf Life Saving Club was formed in the summer of 1949 when a small band of locals commenced patrols on Bilgola Beach. At the end of the 2008/2009 season the Bilgola Club celebrated 60 years of service to the local community. Bilgola Surf Life Saving Club, which is located at the south end of Bilgola Beach, offers a real sense of community spirit. It is a great way to meet new people, support the community, keep fit or just have fun.

    Bilgola Nippers

    Bilgola Nippers Committee run the “Bilgola Nippers” each Sunday at the world famous BILGOLA Beach during the summer months between October and March. Children can join “Nippers” at Bilgola SLSC from the age of five (5) years and start learning about surf awareness and safety through the “SurfEd” program. As they get older they are able to participate in board paddling, surfing, swimming, sprinting, wading and fun activities and games, dependent on their ages and abilities. At Bilgola the emphasis is on having fun whilst developing skills. Practicing these skills helps develop competence and confidence in the surf environment. It also allows children to compete in Club, Regional and State life saving carnivals.  Surf Life Saving Australia…

New members can now easily join and pay for their membership online. Ocean Thunder

Bilgola’s big day at Manly Carnival The big Manly Surf Carnival proved a very happy hunting ground for the Bilgola Surf Life Saving Club over the weekend. “A feature of the whole weekend was the superb sweeping of our three sweeps. They made every other club look ordinary”. There was great success throughout the ranks, at this iconic event ,where some 245 crews participated over the full weekend. The surf was very similar to Kurrawa with a tricky shore-break followed by a 2 metre 2nd break, which caused much carnage. The Open Men progressed their way through the very tricky conditions to take out the final of the blue ribbon event in a very exciting race. …

Ocean Swim Series

Bilgola to kick off the inaugural Pittwater Ocean Swim series. The five pittwater surf clubs have combined to create a new swim series for the summer. To be eligible for the prize a swimmer must compete in 4 of the five swims and a random draw will be conducted at the completion of the series, with the winner receiving a return trip for two to Hawaii with 4 days accommodation and entry into the Hawaiian rough water swim.The first of the swims will be at Bilgola on December 11th 2011 at 11am, followed by Newport, Mona Vale, Avalon and finishing with the Big Swim from Palm Beach to Whale Beach.
