Nipper Presentations

Thanks and Farewell from the Retiring Nippers Chairman

Wow, another great Nipper season comes to a close!

Firstly, presentation nights are always a great barometer of the season, and last Saturday was no exception.  By all accounts a great afternoon was had by all! I’d personally like to thank Lou Edgley for all her hard work and running around prior to the night.  Lou always ensures the points add up, and the quality of the trophies; awards and medals are top notch.     Thanks also to Pete Fenley for filling in as MC, the BBQ and Bar crew for ensuring everyone was well fed and watered.

From a season perspective, I would like to thank all the Age Managers and Assistants.  We would not have a junior program if not for you!  It’s a unique position and one that at times can go unrecognized, to manage and keep the children interested and safe has been a credit to you all.  On the competition side we had some great results with the team being well supported by Steve Couzins, Pauline Wright, John Morley and Rob Chant.  Thanks also to the trainers Jake and Maddie for all your efforts.

Well done to all the SRC’s, they now leave the junior program and fill the patrolling ranks.  I hope you all continue to come back to the club!  A massive thank you to Belle Poelmann, you set an aggressive target to have everyone through the program by December and this was achieved.  When I started in the role there were very few cadets, I now look around and we have well over 50 new and existing cadets.  The work Rob Chant and Josh Axeford have undertaken to continue to build and keep our junior adults within the club is to be commended.

Thanks to Rob Farr, Peter Fenley and Kylie Ockwell (in the office) for their assistance in ensuring the smooth running of Sunday morning activities during my absence.  The BBQ team of Rachel Brown, Rob Goodyear, David Madew and John Brogden (and their band of merry helpers) ensured not only a good breakfast but provided the club with a significant revenue stream.

Finally, after four years as Junior Chairman and over ten years involved in some capacity with the club its time to take a break.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and most of all the friendships made.  It’s a fantastic club that now needs your help!  Your assistance in supporting the junior program ensures it continues to grow, therefore if you can assist please contact Kylie on club.coordinator@bilgolaslsc.org.au

Cheers
