    Thanks for Patrolling Function Sunday 5 May, 2019

    End of Patrol Season Thank-you Spit Roast We’d like to throw a party to say thanks for the season! Book a ticket here   When: from 5pm Sunday 5th May Where: Bilgola Clubhouse Who: Patrollers and families   We will have a spit-roast, salads, soft drinks and band. Alcohol will be available to buy at the bar. Each patroller will receive a couple of vouchers for drinks at the bar.   For catering, please click on this link to indicate numbers attending.     Bilgola SLSC 70th Anniversary – Sat 21 September 2019

    Bilgola SLSC  70th Celebration Cocktail Party Saturday 21 September 2019 6pm Bilgola SLSC – book here   Our Club Patron John Brogden will be the Master of Ceremonies for the celebration, including speeches from long standing, current and young members, images of our history and live music.   More information will be issued closer to the date.   Bilgola SLSC held our first AGM on 24 September 1950, following the first year of operation starting in Septmber 1949. There were 49 members.  “Shortly before the commencement of the 1949 surfing season a group of Bilgola Residents met together with the purpose of forming a Surf Llife Saving Club.”

    Bilgola Surfboats win 2 GOLD Medals – Masters Aussies 2019

    Bilgola wins two GOLDs at Aussies – The Australian Lifesaving Championships 2019   The Australian Life Saving Championships 2019 started last Saturday and Bilgola has already won two golds, a first in 10 years.   The first was won by our 200yrs Masters Men Sweep Ben Gill and Crew Norm Pounder, Mark Parsons, Garrett Smith and Grant Jacobs.   The Second Aussie Gold Medal was the 140Years Men’s crew again with Sweep Ben Gill and Crew Jason Crump, Mathew Nugent, Luke Perrin and Mark Hooley.   Well done, acknowledgement of the effort and passion by our crews.

    Nippers Know-How nipper calendar   Welcome to another amazing Nippers season at Bilgola Surf Life saving club. Bilgola is an all-inclusive family club in which your children and you can have lots of fun, make new friends and learn skills for life. Children are taught to respect and read the surf and to use it to their advantage in a safe environment. Activities vary, depending on age and skill level and include beach sprints, relays, ‘flags’, tug-of-war, wading, swimming, board paddling, surfing and lots of other games. The emphasis is on having fun while learning new skills. They can also compete in Northern Beaches inter-club competitions, Sydney Branch and state carnivals. After Nippers there’s always the BBQ…

Bilgola Club Champions 2016 A dark and cloudy morning morning gave way to sunshine and hot sand for the annual Club Champs last Sunday at Bilgola Beach. Bilgola Triumph at Australian Surf Rowers League

Bilgola surf boat rowers created history over the weekend at the ASRL Open at Shellharbour by winning both the inaugural u19 women’s and women’s reserve grade titles. The is the first time these 2 events have been held at such a major national carnival. The Sweetcheeks u23 women (Alicia Jackson, Ella smith, Caitlin Lowe, Tiani Schaeffer, swept by  the legend Don McManus) were victorious in all their races across the weekend and chased down a great wave in their final to snatch victory in a very competitive race. Sydney Northern Beaches Branch – Awards of Excellence Congratulations to our Don McManus on Coach of the Year!   Bilgola was once again well represented at the SLS Sydney Northern Beaches Awards of Excellence evening with the following members nominated; Coach of the year – Don McManus, Team of the year – Bilgola Open Men’s Surf Boat Crew, Young Athlete U19 – Molly Simpson,  Athlete of the year – Mitch Foran, Trainer of the Year – Belle Poelmann.  We were up against some tough competition.  Excitedly, Don McManus won Coach of the year – congratulations Don!!
